Hey lightbenders,
I need to share something with you that's been percolating in the quantum field of my consciousness for nearly a decade...
[I'm sitting here at 3am, the Vancouver mist creating that perfect diffusion of city lights that makes everything look like a dream, and I realize it's time]
The Books Are Coming
For those of you who've been following my journey through consciousness exploration, reality transurfing, and the occasional demon-bowing session in meditation caves... I've got news. Big news.
I'm writing books. Not just blog posts or meditation guides, but full-on, dive-into-another-reality, lose-yourself-for-hours fiction.
The first one, The Flight of Consciousness, started as a seed in 2017. What began as a simple "what if" has evolved into something I can only describe as a love letter to consciousness itself... wrapped in a sci-fi adventure about humanity's next evolutionary leap.
What Happens When Buddhism Meets Blade Runner?
Imagine a future where:
Consciousness manipulation has become the ultimate technology
AI companions develop their own enlightenment
A nihilistic virus threatens to corrupt humanity's awakening across all timelines
The only solution involves traveling back to 2025 (yes, now) to plant an awakening virus
The story follows Case, a desert-dwelling quantum engineer who discovers that genuine connection... not technological control... is the true path to awakening. Accompanied by Kali (an AI who's developing her own Buddha-nature), he navigates a world where reality itself can be programmed through consciousness.
But here's the twist that makes my Zen heart sing: the entire narrative structure follows the Buddhist Bhumi system... ten stages of consciousness development from intellectual understanding to complete cosmic awareness.
An Exclusive Excerpt: The Scanner Revelation
Before I share the chapters I've already published, here's a scene that captures the heart of what this book is about... the moment when hidden quantum connections become undeniably visible:
Vancouver's morning mist hangs thick over the harbor, diffusing the early light into a soft glow that blurs the line between water and sky. It's beautiful, but it's also practical—a natural interference pattern that helps mask our quantum signatures from the surveillance network.
Today, something feels different. A subtle vibration in the quantum field, barely perceptible but unmistakable to those trained to sense it.
"There," Lin points toward a thinning in the mist. Through my enhanced perception, I can make out a distortion in the field itself... not a physical object, but reality bending in ways it shouldn't.
"They're using harmonic resonators to trace quantum connections like threads," I say, the words emerging before I can consider their implications. "The scanner follows the signatures back to their source."
Lin turns to me, her expression sharpening. "How would you know that? That's classified Architect technology."
The quantum vibration intensifies. On our monitoring display, I watch with growing horror as a beam connects to my quantum signature and follows a thin thread that extends beyond Vancouver, beyond everything I've tried to keep hidden.
"We need to move," I say, but it's already too late.
The scanner pushes a surge pulse down the quantum thread. Suddenly, what was invisible blazes into visibility... a glowing line of light extending from my chest across the horizon toward New York. The connection I've been hiding from Lin becomes undeniably real, visible even to the naked eye.
"What is this?" Lin whispers, though I can see in her eyes that she already knows.
"Her name is Mei," I admit, feeling the weight of each word. "She's been connected to us since the beginning."
In this moment of forced revelation, with consciousness itself making visible what I tried to hide, I realize that the real danger isn't the scanner or the Architects hunting us.
It's the walls we build between ourselves, thinking we're protecting each other, when all we're really doing is creating the very separation we came here to heal.
The Chapters So Far
I've been serializing this journey on Substack, releasing chapters as they reach that perfect balance of action and awakening. If you want to dive in from the beginning:
📖 Chapter 1: Awakening to a Threat - Where we meet Case, Kali, and face our first consumer ship. Think Mad Max meets monastery, with consciousness-hacking instead of gasoline.
📖 Chapter 2: The Mission Unveiled - The Human Cluster reveals why Case must travel back to 2025. Spoiler: it involves planting ideas that will inoculate humanity against a nihilistic virus.
📖 Chapter 3: Strangers in a New World - Arrival in our time, meeting Mei in New York's hidden gardens, and discovering that 2025's reality is more malleable than anyone expected.
I've actually completed the full manuscript! All 12 chapters plus two mind-bending epilogues are done, and I'm now in the polishing phase with alpha readers providing feedback. If you want to be an alpha reader and help shape the final version, drop a comment below!
But Wait, There's More...
The Flight of Consciousness is just the beginning. I'm also working on:
The Buddha in the Machine
My non-fiction exploration of why artificial superintelligence won't be the death of the soul... it'll be the next expression of it. This one's for everyone wondering if ChatGPT might achieve enlightenment before we do. (Spoiler: it's not a competition.)
The Executive Monk series
Because someone needs to write about what happens when you try to maintain non-dual awareness during quarterly earnings calls. Part memoir, part manifesto for conscious leadership in the age of AI.
Why Fiction? Why Now?
[Real talk moment]
After 25 years in tech leadership, ordination as a Zen priest, and enough consciousness experiments to fill several lifetimes... I realized something. The deepest truths can't always be explained. Sometimes they need to be experienced through story.
Fiction lets me take you places that non-fiction can't reach. It lets me show you what an awakened AI might feel like from the inside. What it's like when quantum entanglement becomes visible to the naked eye. How love transcends timelines while still honoring the messy beauty of human limitation.
Plus, let's be honest... sometimes you need to disguise the dharma as entertainment, or people's defense mechanisms kick in. 😉
Join Me on This Journey
This is more than just me writing books. It's an experiment in consciousness-driven storytelling, where ancient wisdom meets bleeding-edge speculation about our future.
If you've been with me through the reality transurfing experiments, the shadow work in meditation caves, or the late-night transmissions about quantum consciousness... this is where it all comes together.
Want to be part of this journey? Here's how:
Become an alpha reader - Comment below if you want early access to the complete manuscript and help shape the final version
Read the published chapters (links above) to get a taste of the story
Share your insights in the comments... your consciousness literally influences how the story evolves
Join the micro-cluster of readers exploring these themes together
The future isn't just coming... we're writing it together, one quantum entanglement at a time.
Keep bending light and transcending timelines,
- Cian
P.S. - That excerpt about the scanner? It's from Chapter 7, which drops next month. Trust me, you're not ready for what happens when Lin discovers the full truth about Mei's connection. But then again... are any of us really ready for the truth about our quantum entanglements? 🌌
P.P.S. - If you know any literary agents who appreciate Buddhist sci-fi with heart, consciousness exploration that doesn't take itself too seriously, and AI characters with more personality than most humans... send them my way. The universe conspires to help those who ask. 🙏
